Our Beginnings

Surayya Anne Foundation OKC opened its doors in February of 2016 in the Mercy Mission Building in NW Oklahoma City.  Recognizing a need that extended beyond Tulsa, where the first office was started, we have set our intentions to partner with other organizations and communities to assist women and children through a variety of humanitarian efforts to live sustainable and independent lives.

Our assistance programs are based on case by case needs in a variety of areas which include but are not limited to Case Management and Emergency Assistance both within our organization and that of our partners when available.

Our Mission

Serving and empowering those in disadvantaged situations.

Our Vision

To be the leading Muslim women’s organization to eliminate homelessness, poverty, and hunger.

Meet Our Executive Director

DeBorah started her career with the Ark Group as an Intake Assistant in 1987 where she had the opportunity to work extensively with homeless and disadvantaged, followed by her services with State of Oklahoma for 20 years.
She became one of the first African American to have certification for Sign Language; which to this day, remains to be her passion.
Along with her duties at the helm of Surayaa Anne Foundation, Mrs. Boneta serves on many other committees either as a valuable member. She manages” The Mercy Food Pantry”; is a regular participant for “Coalition to End Poverty” and serves on several other disability “ability” boards that focus on children. She is also the founder of “The Bridge” prison ministry for federally incarcerated individuals.
“I have always felt like my life was about assisting others and never about me. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Life‘s most persistent and urgent question is what are you doing for others”, stated Mrs. Boneta.
She appreciates the loving support of her board members and credits her family who is always there to support her in pursuing her passion to serve others and make a difference in the lives of those she comes in contact with.
